The Acropolis Museum together with the General Secretariat for Vulnerable Persons & Institutional Protection of the Ministry of Migration and Asylum forms a long term partnership, based on the recognition of the right to participation of unaccompanied minors in actions that promote social inclusion and integration in the Greek society though education, culture, art and museum experiences.
First fruit of this collaboration is the action "Crafts, craftsmen and professions in ancient Athens". This is a program in the form of a search-and-find game adjusted to the needs and interests of unaccompanied children and teenagers. The action, developed and carried out by the Department of Educational Programs of the Acropolis Museum, concludes with a creative workshop.
Children attending kindergarten and toddlers residing in Hosting Facilities for Unaccompanied Minors can participate in the program "Plants and animals all around ... everywhere". Through a fascinating travel in time they will listen to myths and stories for heroes and gods; sacred trees and plants; domestic and wild animals and will learn to respect and protect the habitat in which all those plants and animals live and grow.
The program is offered free of charge and educators working for the Hosting Facilities for Unaccompanied Minors should make an online reservation at [email protected] or call the following number: 210 9000 900 - extension 414.
